This is a huge improvement from what I had. Very quiet, which is a huge deal with an open floor plan in my house. If I could change anything, it would be to make it more easy to work friendly. My pans do not come clean, the food is off but the stain rings are on sides and bottom. I've tried two different detergents and even the heavy duty cycle. Not sure why that happens but it was sold to us that shouldn't happen. We absolutely love it otherwise

I bought this unit from Costco. I love the design, it leaves dishes very clean, and it is extremely quiet. However, it does not dry well. You need to leave the dishes overnight for the steam to fully evaporate, and even then, the dishes are still not completely dry. The worst part is that it leaves soap residue behind, so dishes often need to be rinsed again before use. I wish I had purchased the 800 Series instead, since it has better rinsing and drying features.

Another otherwise great appliance ruined by smart technology. Blocking the delay function and forcing it into an utterly poor designed and UI app is a horrible decision and if I knew Bosch did this I would never have bought it. Luckily it was the first appliance i bought for a total gut remodel and the last Bosch.

First week of Ownership

Dishwasher looks very good. It's very quiet. Cleans well. It has a container for rinse aid, however, we use a soap/rinse all in one tablet and didn't fill the rinse aid. Set the rinse aid level distribution level to zero so that it would not remind us to fill it. We also have city soft water and didn't need to fil the salt container. Recommend using Auto rather than the Normal cycle. Setting up the Home Connect was not smooth as I would have liked. Tried several troubleshooting methods to enable it (tried 2.4 and 5 ghz networks (not clear if the newer supports both networks for setup, currently using on 5 ghz with Home Connect). Finally, shut off and reset the circuit breaker and eventually I was able to get it on the network. Main reason for using Home Connect is to access features that can't be easily done thru the front panel.

so far I love my Bosch dishwasher EXCEPT - the location of the product information - model number, serial number, etc being on the side of the door. The appliance is installed very close to a side cupboard and it is IMPOSSIBLE for me to get a view of the information because of the location of the cupboard. Why can't the information all be on the top lid of the dishwasher for easy viewing?

I was encouraged to spend the money to purchase a Bosch dishwasher because they're considered the best quality. Sadly, I do not agree with this. I only had my dishwasher for a year and a half and used it twice a week. I rinsed my dishes and silverware thoroughly before placing them securely in the racks. Unfortunately, the pump failed and now I have to have it replaced. It will cost me over $300 to have this done. When I first purchased it, it worked very well and my dishes and silverware were sparkling. I didn't think I would need to worry about it malfunctioning. I mean, its practically brand new.

We ordered the dishwasher in Jan 2026 and it arrived with great anticipation in late Feb 2026. After installing it, we discovered that it wouldn't run...no water getting in. We stumbled around to get a warranty call in. The technician couldn't fix it, so parts are ordered. A month later, we're still waiting for warranty parts to be installed and have still have never been able to run a load of dishes through. We're still hopeful for a happy ending. We've had two previous Bosch dishwashers and the results from them were great. Bosch appears to be loading up on electronic features in this series of dishwashers. We don't want them and we don't need them. All we want is a quiet, reliable dishwasher that works and is not connected to wifi.

The Quietist Dishwasher in Our Kitchen!

Our LG Dishwasher started screaming. It was like a banchi was being pummeled inside that thing. The LG used to be as quiet as a mouse. But after being in use for 6 years, it became so loud we'd only run it if we left the house or ran out of the kitchen to sleep in the garage with ear plugs. Our appliance guy was called in to fix it. He said.. "forget this one. Get a Bosch 500. The price is fine, it will last more than 6 years and you won't know it is running unless you look at the floor." He was right! We thought the LG was quiet. Ha! The Bosch noise level is speechless. It was easy to install because we had our Appliance person install it. The dishes come out cleaner than the LG ever cleaned. This thing is almost perfect. Almost perfect. I wish the silverware holder was bigger. We throw parties and utensils abound during those. The racks don't hold nearly as many dishes, cups, wine glasses as the LG. I'm predicting we will have to do two loads for every LG load. The significant other says, "We will struggle through and simply focus on how clean the dishes. Think of all the extra hours of sleep we are getting!" All in all, I'd recommend the Bosch 500. You won't know it is running unless you look for the red light on the floor.

Previous Bosch Model was Better

Our previous Bosch dishwasher had to be replaced last fall after 10 years due to a cracked tub, which could not be repaired. We were very pleased with the features and performance of it. This model, while it does clean the dishes, has some shortcomings. The previous model had a handle on the door and this one has an opening to pull the door open. The door itself is somewhat flimsy and will flex when opened while the previous model's was very solid. The top rack for flatware constantly catches when it's pulled out and it also flexes. When adjusting the height on the middle rack, the rack will sometimes jump out of position after it's loaded which is frustrating. The bottom rack isn't very useful when you have an assortment of dishes/pans to wash. Again, the previous model was solid in all these areas. The drying of dishes leaves something to be desires, but we have learned that it's best to leave the dishes in the washer with the door closed for at least six hours before opening, or you can opt to dry the remaining water by hand if you open it earlier. I was willing to pay a higher price for a Bosch product both times, but this model is disappointing.

We are very pleased with our new Bosch 500 series dishwasher. We are especially delighted with how sparkling clean our dishes, but especially our glassware appear! If I had any annoyance at all it would be the lack of smoothness when pulling in or out the bottom rack. The cycles are long, and I wish there was an energy saver if I didn't want to use the heat cycle. Most times I let God dry! 🤣 Overall , very happy, I am a first time Bosch owner.

This is our second Bosch dishwasher. We loved the first one and now we love the second one. This one connects to the internet, which is cool. It is touch sensitive, so we have to be careful not to turn it on accidentely, but other then that we love it. The dishes are sparking clean. And of course as usual the machine is quiet and has lots of room for everything.

Great dishwasher. Quiet efficient effective five stars. Phone bot awful. Phone menu awful. Website for manuals awful. BUT two lines of text printed on the door would have saved me several hours of aggravation: "If the red light keeps blinking, wait five minutes and the cycle should start. If it doesn't start, press Reset for 4 seconds until all the lights go on. THEN CLOSE THE DOOR AND WAIT FIVE MINUTES FOR THE RESET." It took me OVER AN HOUR to get someone (who was wonderful once I found her) to explain that. WHY CAN'T COMPANIES WRITE CLEAR INSTRUCTIONS ANY MORE? TEST THEM ON YOUR GRANDMOTHER!

The Pros: It is unbelievably quiet, gets dishes sparkling clean, and no need to rinse before washing. The Cons: The racks are peculiarly laid out making it hard to fill after hosting. The top "third" rack is pretty useless. Finally, I discovered that I miss having a handle to hang my dish towel.

This is the first Bosch appliance we have every owned. We asked friends about Bosch dishwashers before and everyone was always very happy and recommended. Ours replaces one that was installed in our new house after only 3 years. This Bosch Dishwasher is fantastic. So quiet we were not sure if it was even on. It is obviously well built and the door closes very firmly. We love how the racks can be adjusted to fit a variety of dishes including oddly shaped items. We look forward to investing in our next Bosch appliance when the time comes, and highly recommend this dishwasher.

Needs second utensil basket

Older 5 series had two baskets for utensils. This one only has one and where the other would sit, there are other things so there is no room for a second. Love this dishwasher but not being able to fit as many utensils in like the old one, that is a major inconvenience.
