Icemaker makes cubes taste like chemical/plastic

For the first 2 weeks the ice tasted like chemicals plastic. We decided it might be the filter so we put in a new filter with the same results. Now it makes no ice at all but instead shoots water out of a plastic port in the back instead of filling the tray. The only good news is that we longer have bad tasting ice. Bought this a month and a half ago.

We absolutely Love this refrigerator/ freezer. It is the best refrigerator we have ever owned both operationally physically. Our last refrigerator barely kept produce for a few days this one keeps our produce Beautifully. It is so spacious easily accessible. My mom is 78 loves the ease of the botyom 2 drawers the bottom freezer. Its easy to clean is just wonderful We would own this model over n over again I hope it lasts for a long time

Condenser problems

Refrigerator worked great for 3 years until the condenser went up and I lost all the food in my fridge freezer. They did come out pretty quickly to fix it at no cost to me. But I feel like for all the money you spend it should last more than 3 years.

If there was an option for ZERO STARS I would have given that. Our LG refrigerator is a piece of crap compressor died after only 3 years.It was a nightmare working with LG trying to find someone to repair etc..no one wants to work on LG or work with LG.Umbrella Appliances Williamsburg VA came out and put in a new compressor.Prior to that we lost $400 in food that spoiled when the refrigerator died. We ended up buying a dorm sized refrigerator/freezer so thst we could have food in the house.it got real old and expensive eating out.Customer Service was a nightmare hours and hours on the phone.Dishwasher a.so died..another nightmare and washer isnt working properly.Would NOT recommendend LG.

We purchased an LG brand because we thought we were buying the Mercedes of refrigerator. We have been very happy with our LG refrigerator until the compressor went out after 3 years. I bought the unit at Home Depot only to find out they had no contacts with any repairmen. After many phone calls I finally found someone who worked on my LG. The repairman says he has good news and bad news. The bad news is that if they replace the compressor it going to cost me $1200. The good news is the repairman told us the compressor was under warranty and instructed us how to contact LG. Apparently LG has the same problem finding repairpeople because it took an additional 2 weeks for a total of 3 weeks without a refriggerator for LG to get our frig repaired. Although Im happy with our refrigerator the service response time is unacceptable. Why we didnt have a repairperson within 48 hours is a mystery how anyone would find this service acceptable. We were fortunate to be living in a house with a spare refrigerator in the garage. I cant imagine having this issue in a condo. The bottom line is if youre going to sell the product do your homework first and figure out how youre going to honor your warranty in a timely manner.

We loved this refrigerator at first but it made a lot of strange noises and then after only three years the compressor abruptly died - didnt cool at all. Although I understand this is a common problem with this model getting LG to repair it was like pulling teeth. I used the online chat to try to figure out when/if a service technician was ever going to show up and each time they told me someone would call the next day After several weeks of this and my fourth chat I said I was going to file a complaint with the BBB and I guess those were the magic words because a service tech came right out. He told me the compressor had broken because it was dusty I think they just made a bigger refrigerator without giving it a bigger motor and it was too much. He did fix it for free but warned me that it would be out of warranty in a year and then Id have to pay $463 to repair it again. Remember when appliances used to last 15+ years? Anyway its great when it works but Ill definitely look for something else next time.

Purchased 30 days ago. As one would expect from a new appliance it is quite and efficient. Several reviews have stated that this model will stop working without notice - will post if that is indeed the case. I have had excellent luck with LG appliances so I have some confidence that this will not occur. Some of the features that I really like is the positioning of the drawer space - one can see everything in the cheese/processed meat space the door space is well organized as are the bins. Can adequately hold juices condiments butter etc.

Its a great fridge until its not and you must deal with customer service. They have a 10-year warranty for the compressor but trying to get them to repair it is awful. Bad communication and unfulfilled timelines lead to have to miss work to wait for them.

Unfortunately our refrigerator quit working while still under warranty. LG would not send a service representative to us or contact us because we didnt have a receipt even though they knew our purchase date etc. We had to buy another brand and cant recommend the LG brand. Mainly due to lack of good customer service.

2nd Review....apparently you did not like my first one. 12-2-2024 Still unrepaired a very unhappy unsatisfied customer. Possessed Refrigerator Refrig worked great till Oct 2024....still waiting for a successful repair. 1st repair called for a compressor when they came back about a month later the new tech said it only needed a new control panel. Few days later it was installed it did not work. Had to come back to reinstall the old control panel which works for about 24 hrs after you unplug it for 20 minutes. Nov 24 waiting fpr another control panel. Time off from work spoiled food the purchase of a small refrig still having a problem.

The condenser stopped working within 4 years of manufacture date and LG is refusing repair because I cannot find the bill of sale. None of my local repair shops will touch an in-warranty fridge and LG wont fix it. So I had to buy a new fridge and have gotten zero response from LG on this to fix it.

I purchased this Refrigerator in November 2021 it was just what we were looking for and fit our space just fine. For almost 3 years it worked flawlessly then two weeks before Thanksgiving 2024 the entire unit stopped cooling. First we thought a new refrigerator would be our only option to have a refrigerator in time for Thanksgiving but we decided to at least give emailing Customer Service a try since the unit was still in warranty. Very quickly I was communicating with CS via online chat they walked me through some basic test procedures quickly it was determined there was a problem in the closed system compressor failure. I was told a service technician would call soon to make an appointment for the compressor replacement. The next morning I received a call made an appointment for two days later for a technician to come to my house. The day of our appointment the service guy arrived ontime completed the compressor replacement quickly at no cost to us and was on his way. The refrigerator was repaired in time for Thanksgiving and it is now operation perfectly. Im very happy with the urgency LG applied for us in this matter. Overall I am happy with my refrigerator and would buy LG products in the future.

The city oppressor went out a you replaced it as it was under warranty but not in a timely manner. I lost at least $500 worth of meat. A person who handles replacement said yall would give me $100 replacement. That was a slap in the face. Another week went by and yall offered $250. I accepted it because I so tired of dealing with you. I will never buy another thing from you nor will I recommend you. I am still waiting on my money

Our refrigerator is 1 year old and the compressor and 2 other parts died Adding INSULT TO THE INJURY the parts which were in stock took 2 weeks to ship. Refrigerator sits doors open to prevent mold while we wait for the parts. Those who answer the phone are nice and pleasant but unfortunately they are not the ones who just have to put them in a box to be shipped. Buy anything else.

3 and a half years after buying new and it completely stopped freezing and cooling in any capacity. Had to play the waiting game every single step of the way for repairs. 3-5 days wait for every little step of the process while my family lost all our food and we had to eat out of coolers for a month. They dragged their feet and showed no urgency in resolving the matter and I had to frequently call them to check on the process or demand it be expedited. It took them 3-5 days to tell me they didnt have any LG certified techs in my area a week for my local tech to get a part that didnt work because the diagnostic system on the fridge said nothing was wrong 3-5 days to send me refund information 3-5 days to verify the refund amount 3-5 days to send me my money when it was all verified. And when it says 3-5 days it really means 5- unless you spend every day on the phone bothering them about it then you might get lucky and get only a 4 day delay. Run far away. Ended up getting a refund after a month and a million telephone calls.

The compressor failed after two years. Lost hundreds of dollars in frozen salmon. Repairman took weeks to fix it improperly then had to have another out to repair it properly. 5 weeks from failure to fixed.

Bought the fridge 4 years ago and the compressor went out. I called a repairman to look at it and he confirmed that it was the compressor. He gave me an estimate of 1100.00 to fix. I than called LG and they gaurantee their compressors for 10 years and they fixed it for free
