Tough sales/ installation experience

Only used for a couple weeks. Nice features. Seems good replacement for 22 yr old Friedrich 12k unit. A little difficult to install. Sleeve was an option not originally provided by retailer. They then had none and I had to order from Amazon myself??? Extra $120. Should have been included with a specified through the wall unit for sure. Lets see if it lasts 22 yrs like the last one.

Bought this new and installed now two years later the compressor will not shut off or cycle and freezes up due to a faulty compressor relay. The only way to shut it down is to unplug the unit. It seems to be happening to others that have bought this LG unit as well.

I was getting ready to move into a senior apartment complex which had no central air. If I wanted an air conditioner it had to have certain specifications. It could not be a window unit it had to be through the wall or a portable unit. I opted for through the wall but was having difficulty finding something with the sleep requirements that was large enough to accommodate my square footage. I was ecstatic to find this LG which was perfect for what I needed.

Loud and built out of cheap materials... the cover for the air filter has been rattling for 2 years and now the plastic tabs that hold the cover closed broke. I have to tape it to keep it shut. I should have gone with Frigidaire instead of this garbage product.

This ac does what it is supposed to do but does something I find annoying. In energy saving mode the unit will shut down when the temp is reached. Thats good. Less good is that the fan will turn on every 3 or so minutes to check the air. This creates unwanted noise. When cooling is again needed the compressor and fan start again and the cycle is repeated. Why the fan is needed for the sensor to check the ambient air is a mystery to me . Other then that all is well and the unit does a good job of cooling.

I wanted more features to pull the air from the outside to cool but considering that avoiding this keeps allergens from entering the inside space and most recently smoke from the Canadian fires I probably made the right choice. I didnt realize that there was even a valve to control the intake of outside air to cool. You learn something new everyday as they say.

We installed the LT1216CER just before a long intense hot spell covered our area. We knew of the LG quality and reliability and this unit provides great cooling. Our apartment complex replaced all our wall ACs with these things and they are the loudest AC Ive ever encountered to the point I cannot run it when trying to sleep which is wonderful as its often 90+ at night. There is no difference in sound level between the fan speeds. I measured the noise level and it runs at nearly 80 db not 60-65 like the listing claims. All three units in our apartment are that loud. The lights for settings/temp control are also very bright but cannot be turned off. If you are sensitive to light when trying to sleep have fun.

We purchased two a/c units for use in an apartment building for a customer of ours. One unit worked fine. The other unit had a broken fan blade upon arrival and just hummed when we started it. This was an upper apartment with a couple with a baby. We didnt have time for the authorized repair dealer ordered the new blade and repaired it so we purchased a 3rd unit. We checked the box for damage and started it up before we installed it. Same thing. Just hummed and fan not turning. We ended up ordering a 4th unit so we would could provide cooling. Now we have two extra a/c units waiting for repair. NOT REAL HAPPY.

Great timing- we had it installed and in three days we had several 90 degree days. We were so pleased that our new unit cooled our entire three bedroom home 1250 sq ft. We even had to turn it down.

Bought LG in wall AC 1200 BTU after our central ac gave out. Hesitant at first never owned this type of ac unit or LG product. We were extremely happy with purchase. Easy to install my husband did it. Quiet 3 speeds cooled entire family room and living room. Area of approx. 18ft x 30 ft. Very satisfied with efficiency during July and August heat wave.

I bought this as it was the only one that would fit my smaller sized sleeve and ran on a 110 plug. It was also the largest BTU that I could find for what I needed. It does cool but if left on energy saver shuts off before the room hits the set temp. It was decent priced for a sleeve AC.

I had this unit installed about 6 weeks ago just in time for some of the hottest temperatures of the year so far. The unit performed like a champ keeping us cool and comfortable in a space of approximately 400 sq. ft. So far I have tried the Cool Mode Energy Saver Mode and the Dry Mode. All work as advertised. The reason I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 is that I was expecting the unit to be a little quieter. Its not so noisy as to keep me awake at night but I would not describe it as quiet. All in all I am pleased so far. We used a through the wall LG sleeve to install the unit. Im not sure how we would have gotten the AC unit installed if we had followed the directions verbatim. The unit kept dislodging the foam that was supposed to seal the gaps. It worked better to insert the unit in the sleeve and then stuff the foam in the gaps to seal it up.

I purchased this unit to replace an old unit that was about 40 years old. This LG is perfect. It puts out cold for sure. We purchased the sleeve and coil cover extra. We had to make sure the unit tipped away from the front. Some shims did the job. We got it in place finished off and sealed everything. We plugged it in and yee Haa. It handles 500 sq ft easily. We had it shipped to store to avoid any issues. No problems there. It is a nice ac that has more than enough giddy up for our needs. Thank you LG

The worst

Lousy unit 6/1/2021

Have had this unit for a year now. Have had it serviced 4 times. Repair people have said the unit can not perform as manufactured. Maybe I can win the Sweepstakes and get my money back

I have bought this AC About one month ago it works great cools a good size room fine only issue I have is when the units cooling condenser turns on its quite loud if Nosie is no problem buy it

I bought an LP air conditioner model LT1216CER for my family room to replace an old a/c unit that no longer worked. The room is 15 by 20 and the LG unit cools it down quite well and it does not make much noise unlike my last unit. I bought an LG air conditioner because a few years ago I bought an LG gas dryer and I am very happy with how it works. It is a quiet work horse. I expect the same from my LG air conditioner..
